I’m not a modeler or texturer. I’ve dabbled in it enough to understand workflows, but not practiced enough to make awesome-looking things. Evidently, with the advent of 3D modeling and 3D printing, a number of sites have popped up where people put up free 3D assets. For future reference, here is a list of the ones I’ve come across:
- Archive3D – looks like it is run by Adobe and their Creative Cloud service.
- CG Trader – marketplace and a place for free downloads.
- TF3DM
- Thingiverse – Especially for use with MakerBot 3D printing.
- TurboSquid – nice filter system by file format, software program, etc.
